General Information
8:30–9:00 AM | Check-in & Networking
9:00-10:00 AM | Guest Speaker
Hear from our guest speaker, Allison Bakovic, as she shares updates on the following.
- With the announcement of TSMC as the largest FDI in history locating to Phoenix, the semiconductor industry has become a major pillar for our metropolitan region. However, when looking at the total number of jobs and the job projection numbers for the biosciences, these numbers are nearing that of the semiconductor industry here in Phoenix as the annualized growth of jobs over the past five (5) years is more than double than that of the semiconductor industry.
- With a number of bioscience clusters currently in our market with the Phoenix Bioscience Core, the Phoenix Medical Quarter, Mayo Clinic’s Discovery Oasis, and the Scottsdale Cure Corridor, Greater Phoenix has become strong in core capabilities related to diagnostic development, clinical trial activity, translational genomics, and medical devices.
- The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) saw a need in our market to create Business Development positions specific to the Biosciences and Healthcare industry verticals.
