Community Involvement - Real Wishes Forum

You are invited to join the WeSERV Community Involvement - Real Wishes Forum. The Community Involvement -Real Wishes Forum and Chapter Workgroups are designed to bring members together to give back to the communities WeSERV serves through fundraising, volunteerism, and outreach. This new structure transitions from a traditional committee to a more flexible, inclusive model, with governance support from the Real Wishes Board of Directors.

The Real Wishes Board of Directors includes liaisons from each Chapter Workgroup and from the Community Involvement Forum. This board ensures strategic alignment and oversight across all chapters and initiatives.

Community Involvement – Real Wishes Foundation Forum Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a sounding board for the Board of Directors and staff on emerging community-related issues.
2. Review and report on chapter fundraising efforts for Real Wishes and WeC.A.R.E.
3. Share best practices, upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities across chapters.
4. Evaluate new strategies to increase member participation in local initiatives.

Real Wishes Sub Foundation Chapter Workgroup Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate local fundraising and service events in alignment with WeSERV’s and the Real Wishes Foundation's mission.
2. Partner with staff to implement charitable support strategies.
3. Organize events supporting homeownership and community outreach (e.g., Habitat for Humanity, neighborhood improvements).
4. Promote awareness of local programs and encourage participation in city councils or leadership committees.
5. Organize or participate in the association-wide “Community Give Back Day.”
6. Help expand the Secure Lockbox Program and other relevant resources across communities.
