Donating blood can significantly impact someone's life. A, B, AB, and O; positive or negative, you're someone's type and can make a difference.

Post-pandemic, our nation continues to experience a critical blood shortage as usage continues to outpace donations. As a result, 700 donors are needed every day to meet the blood transfusion requirements of our Arizona hospital patients. Our hospital patients need you! Please schedule your life-saving donation.

WeSERV partnered with Vitalant to roll out our You're Somebody's Type Blood Drive to help shrink the ever-growing need for blood. Schedule your time before they fill up, and head to the mobile unit in our parking lot when you arrive for your appointment.

Donor Preparation: 

• #1 deferral for women is low iron. Women should begin eating iron-rich foods. 
• Three (3) days prior, increase water intake – hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! 
• Eat before donation (no fasting)
• Bring a Photo ID reflecting first and last names 
• Visit the restroom before beginning the donation process 
• Donors may take their health history on the donation day – see below.

You can save up to 20 minutes on your visit by completing your Fast Track Health History Questionnaire (medication deferral list may be found here) online the day you donate. You may also access Fast Track from your donor account if you have an appointment scheduled and it's the day of your donation.

Regarding Fast Track: Simply log on the day of donation and follow the prompts. When completed either print out the boarding pass or snap a picture of the QR code for our staff to scan.
