Description

Join us for an important community presentation and open discussion regarding the proposed development by BNSF Railway. BNSF is seeking zoning changes to construct a large-scale Intermodal Hub off US-60 near Wittmann, in Maricopa County. This session will be presented by those in opposition of the project.

This development could significantly impact the surrounding property owners, communities, property values, environment, and traffic patterns. Speakers will present detailed information about BNSF’s plans and the potential consequences of this project to local residents. The presentation will be followed by an open Q&A session to encourage community dialogue and address concerns.

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on this issue in the fall, making it crucial for residents and stakeholders to stay informed and involved.

Bio: Speaker Bud Meador

-Entered the USMC in May of 1965.  Served as an Infantry Officer.  Retired in 1996.

-Served two tours of duty in Viet Nam, 1967-69.

-Alumni of Arizona State University (BS) & National University (MA ).

-Taught at University of Southern California, Marine Corps University, and the U.S Army Command and General Staff College.

-Previous Chairman of Government Relations, Sun City West Property Owners & Residents Association (PORA).

-Presently serving on the Board of Directors of the Sun Cities RV Compound.

-Engaged in the BNSF issue since November, 2024.

-Administrator of the West Valley/BNSF Railroad Forum (on Face Book).
