Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of what is on the ballot\, the services it supports\, and the key questions to consider before voting.\n\n\nTuesday\, October 13\, 2026\nJoin us for appetizers and networking at 5:30 p.m.\, followed by the program from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.\n\nSupervisor Mark Stewart\, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors\, District 1\n\nAs a member of the Board of Supervisors\, Mark is committed to people-centered governance that enhances quality of life\, drives sustainable growth\, and upholds the community's core values. His dedication to transparent\, accountable leadership ensures Maricopa County remains a place where residents and businesses flourish.\n\nSupervisor Thomas Galvin\, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors\, District 2\n\nHis top priority is protecting the Maricopa County taxpayer by being a fiscally responsible steward of the County's financial resources. As a Supervisor\, his focus areas include public safety\, economic development\, housing\, and infrastructure. Galvin was elected to the Board in November 2022 and re-elected in November 2024. He served as Board Chairman in 2025. Galvin has identified one guiding principle while working as a Supervisor: "Protect the Maricopa County Taxpayer." His priorities include supporting police and law enforcement\, fighting violent crime\, keeping taxes low\, and promoting economic development.\n\nDeputy Chief Brandon Smith is a Detention Deputy Chief with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office\, where he has served for more than 24 years. He holds certifications in detective work\, general instruction\, victim advocacy\, sexual assault investigation\, staff misconduct investigation\, force investigations\, and PREA coordination. For the past eight years\, he has served as MCSO's Sex Trafficking Liaison and co-taught Sex Trafficking Behind Bars with the ASU Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research. Since 2025\, he has served on the Maricopa County Department of Public Health Overdose Fatality Review Board and Suicide Mortality Review Board\, and since January 2026\, on the Governor's Council to Combat Human Trafficking in Arizona.\n\nDeputy Chief Brent Williams has served with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for nearly three decades and currently oversees Region II of the Custody Bureau. His previous assignments include serving as Commander of the Fourth Avenue Jail\, Special Response Team\, Ancillary Services\, and Pre-Employment Services\, and leading or serving at the Estrella Jail\, Court Services/Transportation\, Inmate Medical Services\, Lower Buckeye Jail\, and Operations Command. A Valley native and Centennial High School graduate\, he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and a Juris Doctor from the Phoenix School of Law. He has been an adjunct professor at Phoenix College since 2014.\n\nDeputy Chief Jesse Spurgin has served with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for about 22 years and currently serves as Region III Deputy Chief. His previous assignments include Commander of the Fourth Avenue Jail\, Special Response Team\, Training Division\, Court Operations\, Court Security\, Transportation Division\, Shift Commander at Central Intake\, and Administrative Commander at the Professional Standards Bureau. He has also worked at the Estrella and Durango Jails and served as a Public Information Officer with the Media Relations Unit. A U.S. Army veteran\, he holds an associate degree from Rio Salado College\, a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University\, and a master's degree from Northern Arizona University\, and is a Certified Jail Manager (American Jail Association) and Certified Corrections Executive (American Correctional Association). He has served as adjunct faculty at Mesa Community College and Rio Salado College.\n\nDeputy Chief\, Custody Bureau\, Michael Dawson began his career with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Officer in 2005\, after nearly 3 years with the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Throughout his MCSO career\, he has held various assignments and responsibilities\, including the 4th Avenue Jail\, Central Intake\, the Training Division\, Lower Buckeye Jail\, Custody Command\, and the Custody Business Operations Division. Over the past 21 years\, he has been promoted through the ranks and currently serves as Deputy Chief in the Custody Bureau. He holds a bachelor's degree in justice administration from Northern Arizona University and graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. He is a Certified Jail Manager through the American Jail Association and a graduate of Arizona State University's Certified Public Manager program. Chief Dawson is very active in local and national Sheriff and Law Enforcement professional associations. He is a sitting member of the National Sheriff's Association's Emerging Technologies Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Arizona Jail Administrators' Council.
